Despite actor Kim Soo-hyun’s strong denial of dating the late actress Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor, online skepticism continues to grow. Netizens have uncovered striking visual evidence that challenges the narrative presented at his recent press conference.

At the heart of the renewed public attention is a message including a selfie Kim Sae-ron sent to Kim Soo-hyun on April 13, 2018, in a KakaoTalk message recently disclosed by her family. In the message, she wrote, “Where are you? What are you up to?”, followed later by “I’m not feeling great”, reportedly expressing disappointment that Kim Soo-hyun didn’t contact her during his military leave.

Online users have since connected the dots. The nail art seen in Kim Sae-ron’s selfie was matched to photos she posted on her private account that same day. Further evidence came from event photos at a character brand promotion she attended on April 13, which confirm that the outfit in the selfie was the same one worn publicly, indicating the timestamp was accurate.

The romantic tone of the messages, combined with the verifiable visuals, has deepened public doubts regarding Kim Soo-hyun’s assertion that their relationship was strictly non-romantic during her minor years.

At his March 31 press conference, Kim Soo-hyun denied dating Kim Sae-ron as a minor and claimed the KakaoTalk messages were fabricated. He stated the messages were submitted for forensic analysis, but the agency used was privately run and not legally certified, casting doubt on its credibility.

In addition to his public denial, Kim Soo-hyun has filed a lawsuit seeking 12 billion KRW in damages against Kim Sae-ron’s family, an unnamed person claiming to be her aunt, and the Garo Sero Research Institute, a media channel that has continued to share materials related to the controversy.
